Esia Tecamachalco

The Higher School of Engineering and Architecture belongs to the National Polytechnic Institute and is located in the remotest part of Naucalpan, very specifically in Tecamachalco. It is a university that only has the Architectural Engineer degree, the difference with other universities whose training is from the same union is that the ESIA architect profile is focused on someone with knowledge not only in design, landscapes or legislative and artistic issues. but rather a professional who also has knowledge of construction technologies and systems to be able to design and execute an architectural project. It is one of the few universities that grant the title of Architectural Engineer in the country. The student environment is quite calm and enjoyable, the school has green areas and multi-purpose fields where one can channel their stress and rest. A breakfast with friends at "El Corte" (a monument inside the school) after evaluation season is very appreciated. The academic level is demanding, it can be stressful since the career demands a lot of your time, disposition and effort to make the plans; which is why in the first semesters many drop out or begin to be irregular. Previously, older teachers dominated, after the pandemic the administration was providing a new roster of young teachers and little by little the level of teaching has greatly improved. In the same way, being a school of Architecture with a polytechnic profile, there was not much presence of the arts previously, however lately there have been activities that encourage student participation in these aspects: photography contests, landscape architecture, design of furniture, drawing workshops, conferences, etc. There are many aspects to improve but the progress has been significant, for example the bathrooms were recently restored and have been spectacular. A new route was also enabled to get to the school from the Cuatro Caminos Metro, there is a van that only takes students and leaves you in front of the ESIA. The other route and which was previously the only one is from the Tacuba metro, a bus leaves at the stop that also goes directly to the university and drops you off in front. I am currently studying my last semester at this wonderful university and despite all the adversities and difficulties along the way, it has been a pleasant experience to be able to belong to the best university in the country to study Architecture.
